To make caring for your body an act of self love can be very simple

  1. Start by picking lotions, shampoos, and conditioners that make you feel good. Choose smells that give you the feeling you want in your heart. For example they say the scent of rose represents love. Cedar is a grounded and earthy smell. Fruity scents are thought of as energizing. You can pick your scent based on a memory. The smell of Bath and Body Works, Sweet Pea will always make me think of laughing with my best friend in high school and those feelings of authentic joy.

  2. For lotioning your body go slow. Do not rush through, slathering on a cream and moving on to the next thing that has to be done. Breathe in deeply and enjoy the smell you picked out just for you.

  3. Now Gently thank your capable, precious body for all that it does.

  4. As you go over your feet you can tell your feet, Thank you feet for all the time you spent standing and keeping me stable today.

  5. Tell your legs, I am so grateful that you hold me up and get me to where I need to go.

  6. Stomach, Thank you for absorbing nutrition to keep me alive for another precious day. Also if you've given birth, Thank you for cradling my babies until they came into this world.

  7. To your chest, thank you for holding my lungs so I can breathe life into my body. Thank you for protecting my beautiful heart.

  8. To your arms, Thank you for hugging the people I love, so I get to feel them close to my heart.

  9. To my hands, I am so grateful for how capable you are and all that we have accomplished.

Make it your own. If you are a hair stylst you can thank your hands for making beautiful hair that fills hearts with joy. If you are a runner, thank your whole body for being bad ass. Most importantly you need to mean it. Don't just repeat a montra. Speak genuine appreciatioin to yourself. You are worthy of love, now prove it to yourself.

Little habbits like this add up, you are seeing to believe that you are worth the time, and energy. Give yourself that love. You deserve it.

Hang in there friend. You are in good company.
